Information

Neckarbogen / 3. Bauabschnitt | Heilbronn

The goal

This project is designed to blend seamlessly into the broader development of Neckarbogen, a forward-thinking, sustainable neighborhood focused on creating a high-quality living environment. As part of the third phase of this competition, the building was envisioned as a mixed-use space that not only provides housing but also activates the ground floor, fostering community engagement and social interaction.

With approximately 1,200 m² of residential space, the building offers 20 apartments, 20% of which are designated as social housing. A communal rooftop garden encourages shared experiences and a sense of belonging. The ground floor features 300 m² of commercial space, creating opportunities for local businesses and contributing to the vibrancy of the neighborhood.

A key aspect of the design is the "assemble to disassemble" approach, anticipating a future where buildings can be easily adapted, repurposed, or recycled without major demolition. This flexible, circular construction method minimizes environmental impact and ensures long-term sustainability, aligning with Neckarbogen’s vision for a resilient and evolving urban landscape.
